Congratulations to all Xavier graduates! We welcome you as graduates of a long and rich tradition of Jesuit education. Xavier University's in-person commencement ceremonies and celebration details, taking place on campus in Cincinnati, Ohio, are linked below.

Commencement Ceremonies

Xavier's commencement ceremonies will take place on Saturday, May 13, 2023. The undergraduate ceremony will be at 9:00 a.m. and the graduate ceremony is at 2:30 p.m. Both ceremonies are held in the Cintas Center.

Baccalaureate Mass

The Baccalaureate Mass is a time for the Xavier community to gather in thanksgiving and celebrate the accomplishments of the Class of 2023. We reflect on years of learning and growth to send the soon-to-graduates into the world imbued the fire of the Spirit. Students and guests all arrive at the same time; seats are on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Grad Fair

Grad Fair is your one stop shop for all your commencement needs.  All undergraduate and graduate students who will graduate in May 2023, or who graduated in August or December of 2022, are strongly encouraged to attend.

Commencement Checklist

In order to participate in Commencement, students have several tasks to complete. If you have not already done so, be sure to review your progress towards your degree in Degree Works and meet with your academic advisor.

  1. Apply for Graduation - deadline is January 20, 2023. Applications submitted after the deadline incur a $50 late fee.
  2. Order Your Cap and Gown
  3. Order Class Ring / Announcements
  4. Check Your Bursar Account - go to "Pay Bill" on the Student HUB to see if you have a balance on your account. You will not receive your diploma if you have an outstanding balance.
  5. Update Your Contact Information for post-graduation. Your Xavier email account will be deactivated 1 year after graduation.  Be sure to unlink any accounts that are tied to your email.
